be the BRIGHT spot

Sew Minimal creates upcycled fashion and accessories for eco-fashionistas that want to make the world a brighter place

100% UPCYCLED FABRIC

Each Sew Minimal item is made using 100% second hand textiles. Our mission is to transform discarded textiles into new fashion & accessories. To date, we have saved over 500 pounds of fabric from the landfill.

the woman behind the business

Sew Minimal began in 2018 as a hobby born out of my combined loves of sewing and scouring thrift stores for unique fabrics. There is nothing more satisfying than turning an old bedsheet into a beautiful dress, or a curtain into a one of a kind bag. Eventually, I found myself day dreaming about upcycling for a living.

In the summer of 2019 I took the plunge by quitting my day job and devoting myself to Sew Minimal full time. I love having the opportunity to be creative and useful every day, but it is no secret that supporting yourself through your art can be a struggle. THANK YOU for being here and for supporting my mission of turning old fabric into new fashion. Let’s make the world a brighter place, one upcycled item at a time ☀

What does it mean to BE THE BRIGHT SPOT?

Sew Minimal is committed to making the world a brighter place, one upcycled item at a time. But can you really create significant change through fashion? We think so!

We’re creating a monthly blog to explore this question by delving into bright spots in fashion history. Join us as we find out how to create meaningful change through what we wear!
